I’ve been ‘plein air’ painting since 2011. ‘Plein air’ is a French term for painting on site in front of your subject. Typically this is a landscape and you are attempting to capture a moment in time with a particular lighting condition that is of that moment. I have found this an amazing addition to my artistic outlets. There is a sense of urgency in plein air painting as you are on site and must finish in a timely manner in order to capture the moment. Time, weather, changing lighting conditions are true task-masters that compel you forward and drive you to finish.
